St. Andrew

A charcoal drawing made using charcoal on white cotton paper. It was drawn as a part of my education, when I was looking to learn to control charcoal as preparation for my time in Florence. The cast is a classic in ateliers all over the world, with the complex beard giving students a challenge in rendering. The cast is part of an original sculpture, made by flemish artist François Duquesnoy, made in the 17th century.
